Water as Metaphor

Water has become very symbolic to me, I see excitement in rushing water, meditation in stillness of water, the life that lives in water, and much in-between.  I love the ideas that it creates!

Experiments with Copper Surfaces

In these paintings I have been playful, using oil, patinas, foils, etching and other techniques while working with the copper surface to find interesting colors and glow beneath it all.

The Persistence of Life: Looking Closely at the ground
These paintings are about my feeling that we might cover the ground with asphalt or cement, but soon it doesn't take long for the plants to break through the layers and come to life.  I found myself looking at the ground in new ways, and celebrating the Tenacity of Life!

Experiments With Copper!

I am experimenting with copper, patina colors, and small frames.  Each piece is designed to work as a whole.  I'm beginning with bits of copper left over from previous projects.  I'm finding new ways to add texture and colors.  Many of the frames have been sanded and repainted.  Here are a few pieces I've been working with.
